Publishing Policies
These policies describe the standards Banach Press expects of every journal in its portfolio. Each journal may set additional, discipline-specific requirements of its own; where the two differ, consult that journal directly.
Peer review
Every article we publish has passed independent peer review, conducted by reviewers with relevant expertise and overseen by the journal's own editorial board. The precise review model, single-blind, double-blind, or otherwise, is set by each journal and published in its author guidelines.
Authorship
Every listed author is expected to meet the contribution, review, and accountability criteria set out for authors, with any conflict of interest disclosed at submission. See For Authors for the full standard.
Open access and licensing
Some Banach Press journals publish fully open access under a Creative Commons license; others run a subscription model that preserves an author's right to self-archive an accepted manuscript after an embargo. Which applies, and any embargo period, is set at the journal level and published alongside its author guidelines, so authors know before they submit how their work may be shared and reused.
Article identifiers and indexing
Published articles are assigned a persistent digital object identifier and submitted for listing in the bibliographic databases relevant to their field, so a citation resolves and a reader can find the work independently of where they first encountered it.
Corrections and retractions
Errors that affect the published record are corrected in the open, in line with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE): through a published correction, an expression of concern, or a retraction, as the case warrants. Archiving and preservation
Published articles are kept available for the long term through a digital preservation arrangement independent of Banach Press's own systems, so the record survives even if a given platform does not.
