For Authors

Banach Press exists to bring rigorously reviewed research to the widest possible audience, across mathematics, the physical sciences, engineering, and the philosophy of science. Each title in our portfolio sets its own scope and author guidelines and hosts its own submission system; this page describes what unites them.

Preparing your manuscript

  • Check the target journal's aims and scope before you write, not after: a well-argued paper sent to the wrong journal still costs everyone the review cycle.
  • Posting a preprint ahead of submission is welcome unless the target journal's own guidelines say otherwise.
  • Submit original work, not previously published and not under review elsewhere, formatted to the target journal's own template and reference style.
  • Write proofs, derivations, and empirical claims so a referee can follow them without reconstructing a missing step, and cite tables and figures where they are discussed in the text.

Authorship

We ask every listed author to meet all four of the following, the standard used across scholarly publishing: a substantial contribution to the work's conception, design, or analysis; a hand in drafting or critically revising it; approval of the final version submitted; and accountability for the accuracy and integrity of the whole. Contributors who fall short of this belong in an acknowledgement, not the author list, and any conflict of interest, financial or otherwise, should be disclosed at submission rather than left for a reader to find. Submitting your work

Manuscript submission is handled by each journal directly rather than through this site. Authors preparing work for the Journal of Convex Analysis, for example, submit through the journal's own site, where its author guidelines, manuscript template, and editorial contact are maintained. As further Banach Press titles launch, they will list their own submission routes on the Journals page.

Peer review and revisions

Every submission that passes an initial scope and quality check is sent to independent experts under the review model your journal has published in its own guidelines. Most decisions ask for revision before acceptance; the editor's decision, not the reviewers' recommendation alone, is final. Full detail is in our Publishing Policies.

After acceptance

An accepted manuscript is copyedited, assigned a persistent identifier, and indexed according to its journal's practice, then published under the licensing terms that journal has set out for its authors.
